Farmhouse Springtime PorchTrixie says hello and welcomes you to our humble abode! I love sitting out here listening to the birds sing and watching the squirrels playing tag round and round the trees.

Vintage Glider on a Farmhouse PorchThis is my spot! I found this glider at a nearby yard sale many years ago. A couple of boys made it as a gift for their mother. At least, that’s the story I was given when I was looking it over.

Coffee on my springtime porchOn the weekends, hubby and I enjoy our morning coffee out here. It’s such a great way to start the day with some idle chit chat while we discuss our plans for the day.

Treats on a Farmhouse Springtime Porch And sometimes, we enjoy afternoon goodies out here (and yes, these pretty pastries were wonderful!).

Farmhouse Springtime PorchOn the other side of the porch you’ll find our white flea market chairs. I found these on separate trips, and the one on the right was green. I spray painted both of them to match. In between the chairs is a little table that hubby found on the roadside waiting for the trash man to pick it up.

It was plain brown and I wasn’t thrilled with hubby’s find. But I kept an open mind and painted it, then applied a script effect using a rubber stamp to the front of the drawers.

Roadside Rescue Table, painted and stamped for the front porchAnd here’s the real reason hubby brought this treasure home. Each drawer is a separate game! When we’re feeling a little lazy, we’ll take out a game instead of heading inside to watch T.V.  Our grandkids like to play with it too.

She enjoys our springtime porch too!

  2. I love decorating my front porch..adding flowers, using my newest find an 100+ year old harvest table

  3. I love to decorate the front porch. You can see it from the road and I like to spend a lot of time out there on the rocking chairs. It’s fully shaded in the afternoon, so it’s perfect 🙂

  4. Our front porch! It’s covered so it’s easier to use pillows and decorations that I don’t have to worry about the weather as much. Beautiful space, thanks for the opportunity!

  5. I am going to decorate my front porch in my new home. This will be the first time at decorating it. I have been working at organizing the seating and then painting the pieces I have gathered. I will have a space to sit, a place to eat and a place to barbeque. The porch runs the width of the cottage and it is 7 ft. deep. We have a sliding door and two kitchen windows that look out on to the porch. I have to come up with a way to add privacy at the barbeque end as the neighbours deck is across from our porch. I cannot decide between a stationery lattice or just a rod with drop cloth curtains.
This is my favourite time of year. Just as you said Jennifer I love to spend my time outside when the weather is nice. My kitties love to be with me as well, sleeping in the sun as it brushes the front of the porch at midday. Enjoy your day.

  10. We have two decks and a patio so deciding which one to sit on is usually the biggest problem. I love the deck that is off my office best. It has a round umbrella table and a couple of chairs and my hubby and I have coffee out there on cool mornings when we want the morning sun. On hot mornings we sit on the deck off our living room which is overlooking our patio. We can see everything that is happening all along our road as we sit up on a hill. Best view is from that deck which overlooks our pond and 1890’s barn. While we are on the edge of town, we are out far enough to feel like we live in the country. I just love watching the wildlife and plants change from day to day. Sure would love that glider of yours! May have to keep that in mind for my deck wish list!!
