A Simple DIY Project and the “Inspire Me Challenge”

Recently I was asked to join a group of bloggers for a simple “Inspire Me Challenge.” The idea is to tackle a simple DIY project that’s been sitting on the back burner for a while … and then share how we tackled the projects. Hopefully, all this will inspire you to do one of these simple projects for yourself!

Inspire Me Challenge of Simple DIY Projects

The challenge officially starts on Monday the 19th with these lovely ladies when we all start our projects … and then a week later on Monday the 26th, we reveal what we’ve done on our blogs. Throughout next week, we’ll share our progress on social media sites using the #InspireMeDIY hashtag so you can follow along!  Wanna know what project I’ve chosen?

Farmhouse Front Porch with Hanging Baskets and Flower BoxI was debating between 3 different projects, and at the last minute finally settled on my front porch.

Farmhouse Front Porch GliderWell, more specifically … I chose my front porch glider. My simple DIY project will be to soften this baby up! Right now, it has no seat cushion or any outdoor pillows. The ones in this picture actually belong in my living room. I’m really tired of my bum getting achy from sitting on the hard slats!

Simple Glider on a Farmhouse PorchEven Taffy thinks the porch glider could use some help. She’s enjoying the quilt but like me, thinks it just doesn’t provide enough cushion for an afternoon cat nap.  My simple DIY project will start by looking for affordable fabrics. If I get really ambitious, I might even paint the glider!

Farmhouse Porch Folding ChairWhile I’m at it, I’m going to work on a cushion or pillow for my flea market folding chair.

I want something fun and colorful for the summer and am anxious to get started!

Town and Country Living on InstagramFollow me on Instagram as I’ll be sharing progress photos there next week. You can follow all the projects by searching for the #InspireMeDIY hashtag. I think this is gonna be a lot of fun and inspirational to boot!

I’ll also be sharing on Facebook, Pinterest, and Twitter so if you’re on those social sites, I hope you’ll follow me to stay updated as I tackle this fun, simple DIY project that will involve choosing pretty fabrics and a little bit of sewing! Stay tuned!!
