My 140-year-oldย dining room is screaming for a re-do. Well, maybe not screaming … but it could use a little help. I’m happy withย the colors; Martha Stewart’sย Quaking Aspen greenย walls paired withย white trim,ย but the table and chairs couldย use some freshening up. The windows could use some dressing, too. Right now they’re graced with a simple, white, roman…
Do you love good thrift store finds as much as I do? ย How would you feel if someone sent you thrifty finds to transform into something new and wonderful? ย That’s exactly what’s going onย right nowย during “Swap It Like It’s Hot” week, organized by the amazing Charlotte at Ciburbanity!ย This is the 3rd time I’ve been involved…
Let’s face it. The table is the star of a dining room. It’s one of those furniture pieces that deserve a little investment. It’s a place where your loved ones will gather around to create lasting memories. I tend to prefer a farm table because they’re usually built a little heftier than other options like…

How old were you when you started looking at decorating magazines? I was in my early 20s and my favorite magazines were Country Living and Country Home. I’ve always loved country style decorating whether itย has aย farmhouse, cottage, or modern influence. The kitchen is my favorite room in the house and I never tire of thumbing…
For the most part, our dining room has been complete for the last few months, with the exception of some minor details … like stuff to hang on the walls. But after a few shopping trips I feel like the dirty deed is finally done. Here’s the dining room the way she looks today ……

Love it all.
I love the simplicity of it all Jennifer. No fuss and clutter, just beautiful useful pieces and a lovely touch with the white glasses like your grans. Don’t you love it when you find thrifty finds that remind you of a time in your own childhood.
Very fresh looking, Jennifer! Love the simplicity of your table setting. The book page runner is very creative. We are going to our daughter’s for Christmas day also. I still have no idea what we are having Christmas Eve, but it will just be myself, hubby and our son so I’ll keep it easy and simple.
Jennifer, I LOVE your touches of Christmas in your dining room. I need to work on mine today. I just may borrow a few of your ideas. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas, Gail

Love the green and white. I have lots of red this year so this gave me the idea to do some white with all of it on the table. I have lots of white so no excuse to do the same old boring thing I always do.
