Strawberry Julius: The Perfect Summer Drink

Do you realize it’s less than 2 weeks away until the summer fresh month of June? We had a short bit of snow last week (can you believe it???) and tomorrow it’s supposed to be 80 degrees. That’s Illinois for you! But I’m going to try and forget about that freak of snow experience and focus on summer, my favorite season, which is right around the corner! And what better way to usher in warmer days than with a refreshing summer drink? Today I’m sharing a yummy recipe for Strawberry Julius!

Strawberry Julius in Ball Mason JarsYou’ve probably heard of Orange Julius, which is a favorite beverage of my mother’s. I thought … why not Strawberry Julius? So I experimented with the recipe and created this yummy concoction!

Strawberry Julius with Strawberry Layer CakeI love strawberries and June is when they typically come in season here in the Midwest.

Strawberry Julius with Vanilla Strawberry CakeWe had some Orange Julius the other night, and that’s when I thought about swapping out the orange juice concentrate with strawberry. I’ve never seen Strawberry Julius before but I’m sure someone else has made it at some point in time.

Refreshing Strawberry JuliusThe first time I ever had Orange Julius was on a trip to Florida when I was in high school.

I have to say … Strawberry Julius is just as refreshing!

    1. Melissa, that depends on the type of concentrate you’re using. There are a couple different brands out there so just check the label.

  2. Thanks for the ideal of using strawberries. I am so ready.
FYI, I use to work at an orange Julius shop very many years ago. 🙂
There is malt powder in an original orange Julius which gives it a unique taste.
Try it. I am going to try it with the strawberry version.

    1. There was a Orange Julius stand in Westwood, CA. They use coconut powder. Great idea to substitute strawberries 🍓

      1. Hi Hillary!

Coconut powder sounds like a great idea! I think I had my first Orange Julius in Florida during a family vacation. After that, my mother would always make them in summer. 🙂

  5. I’ll be getting ready to go strawberry picking soon at our local farm. This will be a great recipe to add to the list of strawberry treats. Thanks for sharing!

  6. Instead of milk sugar and extract try using French vanilla creamer. I use creamer to make orange Julius with orange juice and ice. Sometimes I add vodka. Yummy yummy.
