Romance with Cookies and Creme Pie

I don’t know what it is about summer, but I love cooking from scratch this time of year. Perhaps it’s because I get excited about my vegetable garden and the whole farm to table movement. But honestly, after putting all that effort into a home-cooked romantic meal for hubby and me, the last thing I want to do is whip up dessert. Instead, I turn to something deliciously sweet and already made, like EDWARDS® Cookies and Crème Pie.
Since I knew I’d be cooking up something special for hubby this past Saturday night, I headed over to Walmart to pick up a pie. Something light and creamy. For a summer’s night, I didn’t want anything heavy.
I couldn’t make up my mind once I got to the store, so I grabbed both Edwards Key Lime Pie and Cookies and Creme Pie. The price is great on these delectable desserts and I knew we’d eventually eat both.
In the end, I chose the Cookies and Creme wine to serve with our romantic dinner because I knew it would pair well with the red wine I was serving. I think it’s important to “date” your spouse throughout your marriage and do special things like enjoying meals together by candlelight.
Mmmm. Doesn’t it look dreamy?  I find that some creme pies are too heavy and filling, but Edwards’ pies have a special element of fluffiness to them.
