Outdoor Fall Decorating

This is the time of year when my summer flowers start to fade.

Yes, they’re still blooming but they don’t look as fresh as they used to.

So I purchased some mums from our local farm market to replace them.

For a little outdoor fall decorating inspiration, I turned to Houzz.

I love the mix of mums, kale, pumpkins, and hay bales in this landscape.

The color on the ground will rival the leaves on the trees once they turn.

Outdoor Fall decorating doesn’t have to be elaborate.

A couple of urns filled with mum or pansies and flanked with pumpkins are all you need.

A gorgeous red house is set off with a border of yellow on the side of the driveway.

The yellow is echoed in the mums that frame the front steps. So pretty!

I have two of these galvanized tubs and I think I’m going to do something similar with them.

You can find these tubs at flea markets for little cost.

It’s a little early for pumpkins and gourds, but I love this big wooden crate stuffed full of them!

You might be wondering where the outdoor fall decorating is in this photo.

Look closely and you’ll see 3 white pumpkins.

But honestly I think I chose this photo because of the charming front door.

More mums dot the porch of a cute white bungalow.

I’m planting my mums this weekend and may pick up a few more.

Are you doing any outdoor fall decorating? I’d love to hear your ideas!

  1. I love all the ideas in these pictures! I’ve started mine… indoor and outdoor will be this weekend. Mums to replace the petunias that looked great all summer.
