My Home Appearing in New Book “Creatively Christmas”

I’ve been holding onto a little secret for many many months and now I’m finally able to share it with all of you!

My home is appearing in the new book “Creatively Christmas ~ Inspired Yuletide Decor” by Jennifer Rizzo!!

I’ll never forget the day last year when I opened an email from Jennifer telling me about her new book deal and asking if she could photograph my house to appear in its holiday pages.

Didn’t take me long to respond with an enthusiastic YES!

Creatively Christmas, new book by Jennifer RizzoJennifer came over last December for the photo shoot, and I took photos of her taking photos but now I can’t find them. Sigh. I think they might be buried in the photo files of my old laptop so I need to retrieve them.

I realize it’s a little early to share Christmas decor, but to get you in the spirit of the book, I’m sharing a few pics from last year’s Christmas decor. These are not, however, the photos that will appear in the book.

Jennifer did her own styling and photographing in my home, which was fun to watch!

Christmas tree decorated with vintage blown glass ornamentsEvery year hubby and I look for an imperfect Christmas tree to give it more of a vintage vibe.

Plus, when there are lots of awkward holes to the tree, you have more space to hang ornaments.

One year we actually cut lots of branches off our Christmas tree to make it less perfect!

I have to confess I’ve already started thinking about how I’m going to decorate this year.

Bowls of glass ornaments and a few greens.

This is a busy room and I don’t like stumbling over lots of stuff.

Several other houses appear in Jennifer’s book, Creatively Christmas.

This inspirational holiday book is now available for pre-order. I can’t wait to see it!

  2. I’ll be looking for this book, I have a small library of Christmas books! And don’t worry about “thinking of Christmas so early”… I am doing it, too!

  3. Congratulations Jennifer … I know you are so excited. I love how you decorate your home and you make Christmas special. Looking forward to seeing what you do at Christmas this year.

  4. I’ll say CONGRATULATIONS Jennifer, what a special occasion for your home to be featured in a very special book. How exciting for you. I love photos you so graciously shared with us now. Your home is soft and welcoming with your special decorating style. I’m so glad I found your blog last year. You’ve sure inspired me with what I saw in those photos. Love idea of making your tree more vintage. I happen to love trees like that, they need to be loved too. We always buy the poor sad trees, smaller ones since we have a small living room. I think your tree was lovely. As you said, more room to put more ornaments to be appreciated on it. Do you have a different theme every year for your tree? One year when we lived in KY it was up to me to decorate tree as hubs on the road. Decided to do bird’s nests with birds. Kept feeling like tree needed something else so went out to shrubs in front to see what could be found, dried vines I took out to wrap around tree like a garland, one of my favorite trees. Hubs thought I was crazy when he got home but I liked it. What will your tree be this year, have you decided? I change my mind a few times before tree time. Happy weekend and again so happy for you about the book. You sure deserve it.

  5. Such wonderful news for you and well deserved. Our dining room is under construction and I can barely think of decorating so I love seeing orderly rooms and your Christmas from last year is darling.

  6. I went to Jen Rizzo’s book signing last night and already finished my first read of the book. It was great and I am sure some of her ideas will become my ideas for décor at Christmas. Easy reading with good stories and pictures.
