On My Way to Cozumel Mexico!!

I can’t believe the day is finally here, but it is!! I am on my way to Cozumel Mexico with my 2 daughters. In fact, this post should be published right about the time our plane takes off from O’Hare airport. I have never been to Mexico so I’m pretty excited. I’ve been to Jamaica and Haiti and imagine Cozumel will be somewhat similar, although much nicer than Haiti which is pretty poverty stricken. (Photos are from the Sunscape Sabor website unless otherwise noted.)

Sunscape Sabor Resort in Cozumel MexicoWe’re staying at the Sunscape Sabor resort which has 3 pools and several restaurants.

Coast of Cozumel MexicoI’m not much of a pool person though. I prefer to swim in the ocean.

I was looking for my swimsuit the other day and couldn’t find it so had to buy a new one.

Does anyone else hate swimsuit shopping as much as me? Ugh!

Both my daughters and I have our birthdays in February, so late last year I suggested a girls weekend getaway to celebrate. Mind you, I was thinking of an overnight trip to Chicago and next thing I knew my daughter Stephanie was talking about Mexico!

Swings at the Bar in Cozumel MexicoStephanie kept texting me photos like this one to entice me to go.

Swings at the bar?  I’ll definitely be sittin’ on one of those!

At least one day we’ll tour a bit of the island and head into San Miguel which is just minutes away.

I also want to make sure to see the Mayan ruins on the island.

But mostly we’ll spend our days enjoying the water, sunshine, food, and wine!

I’m looking forward to time with my 2 daughters … just hanging out and bonding.

I have a few posts scheduled to go live while I’m gone. I’ll be sure to share pictures when I return!

  1. How very exciting, Jennifer! Enjoy your special days together with your girls. And today is the start of the Chinese new year. I was actually visualizing the beach as I look outside and see the frozen snow. In my mind, I am thawing the outdoors and going to my happy place, which happens to also be in the Caribbean (Grand Cayman). Enjoy!

  2. You left our area on the right day, with this frigid cold. At least we have sun today which had to have made leaving O’Hare a little less stressful. My daughters and I have only done trips to Lake Geneva, Wisc., Saugatuck, Michigan and Boulder, Colorado. I was just saying to my husband I would love a trip down to Sanibel, Florida right now, but your trip to Mexico looks wonderful. Enjoy…enjoy…. P. S. I just was in T J Max the other day and found myself looking at some gorgeous swimsuits that were very reasonably priced, but I didn’t have the nerve to try one on yet. I get ya… 🙁
